LOWELL, MA (September 5, 2024) – Larissa C. Thurston, President and Chief Executive Officer at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, announces the reopening of the Lowell High School branch where a ribbon cutting ceremony was held on August 26 to mark the project’s completion. The newly renovated branch is part of Phase 2 of the Lowell High School construction and expansion project.

The Lowell High School branch, managed by Elizabeth Chhoeum, Financial Education Manager, is a fully operational branch serving students and administrators. The branch also offers financial education classes, and as part of the high school curriculum students can work as interns at the branch where they experience hands-on learning. Many of these students build their resumes by “graduating” from intern to employee with the Credit Union.  Joshua Porter, Jeanne D’Arc’s Financial Wellness Officer, began his Credit Union career as a student intern at Dracut High School.

“This branch has supported the financial well-being of Lowell students since 2003 and we’re proud to be able to continue this valuable partnership,” said Larissa C. Thurston, President and Chief Executive Officer at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “This team and this branch are incredible resources for the Lowell High School community.”

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union also operates fully operational branches inside Nashua High School South and Dracut High School. These high school branches are part of a strategy focusing on providing financial education to students through internships, workshops, mentoring, and job skills. Jeanne D’Arc’s Financial Wellness team begins teaching financial education in elementary schools with their Save-at-School program and age-appropriate interactive workshops.
