Can I open a SEP if I have another type of retirement plan?

Yes, self-employed people and employees may hold both a SEP and another retirement plan from a separate job, whether it’s a workplace plan like a 401(k) or a different type of IRA account.

Depending on your accounts and income, there may be limits on how much you can contribute and on how you can rollover one account into another. Talk to your financial advisor for more details.
