Core Values Spotlight: March

At Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, our five core values drive everything we do. Each month, we look to acknowledge a group of employees who go above and beyond their day-to-day responsibilities and exemplify a Heart to Serve, Communication, Accountability, Teamwork, and Growth.

Here are three examples of colleagues who truly demonstrated Heart to Serve, Communication, Accountability, and Teamwork. Join us in congratulating our Core Value winners for the month of March: John Davey and Josue Maldonado; Andrew Farris; and Hailey Fitch.

Team members John Davey and Josue Maldonado were both recognized for having a Heart to Serve for their dedicated work in supporting a member in need. Recently, a legally blind member went in to the Lowell Branch accompanied by another man. John helped the member navigate his way to the teller line and stayed with him until he completed his cash withdrawal. John then escorted them to the main doors and they walked away, not long after which the other man robbed the member. The member returned to the branch, told John what had happened, and John immediately called 911 to report the robbery and stayed with him to keep him comfortable throughout the police interview. John then followed up with the police with security footage of the event. Additionally, Josue recognized the suspect from video and was able to provide the police details about the individual. Sheila Fortin, Vice President, Risk Management, wrote in her nomination, “This is just another great example of the care and compassion our Security Guard Team provides to our members.”

Member security isn’t just the responsibility of our Security Guard Team – our Financial Risk Management Specialist Andrew Farris was recognized for Accountability and Teamwork regarding his extensive efforts in responding to a major organized fraud ring that took place in 2023. Due to his identification of all the related fraudulent transactions and the detailed presentation of a comprehensive fraud case report, the Lowell Police Department was able to identify a number of suspects and then successfully initiate prosecution activities.

As a token of their appreciation, Andrew is receiving a Lowell Police Department patch and commemorative coin. His manager, Sheila Fortin, Vice President, Risk Management, said “It is truly an honor for him to be singled out and recognized by law enforcement for his dedication and commitment to excellence, and we are so very fortunate to have him on our team!”

Hailey Fitch, Commercial & Residential Lending Administrator, was praised for her exceptional Teamwork, Accountability, and Communication. Currently, our Business Services department is undertaking a significant project that involves preparing hundreds of business member folders and migrating all relevant documents to a new system. What could have been a month-long endeavor was efficiently completed in a short timeframe, thanks to Hailey’s proactive involvement. She not only tackled the workload with enthusiasm but also implemented advanced quality control measures while reviewing and preparing the files.

Kara Doyle, VP, Commercial Lending, and Robert Boley, VP, Business Services, both said of Hailey, “Hailey embodies the spirit of getting things done, and her efforts have made a significant impact on our project’s success.”
