Core Values Spotlight: June

At Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, our five core values drive everything we do. Each month, we look to acknowledge a group of employees who go above and beyond their day-to-day responsibilities and exemplify a Heart to Serve, Communication, Accountability, Teamwork, and Growth.
Today we‘re sharing three examples of colleagues who truly demonstrated Heart to Serve, Accountability, and Teamwork. Join us in congratulating our Core Value winners for the month of June: Melissa Angove, Joe Capobianco Jr., Meike Doyle, Andrew Farris, Zachary Kingsley, Judith McCullough, Scot Morris, and Stephanie Sejour; Brenda Hoenig and Gail Horan; and Aurora Pineda and Suzanne Semedo.
Melissa Angove, Joe Capobianco Jr., Meike Doyle, Andrew Farris, Zachary Kingsley, Judith McCullough, Scot Morris, and Stephanie Sejour from our Tyngsboro branch Financial Risk Management teams were all recognized for their exemplary accountability and teamwork. Last year, a fraudster posing as a businessman deposited counterfeit checks and initiated money transfers at the Tyngsboro branch. As part of an investigation into this criminal, federal agents contacted the branch to investigate further into the encounter. Everyone was flexible with their time and spent quite a bit of it talking to the agents. All of the agents were suitably impressed, and deeply appreciative. Sheila Fortin, VP – Risk Management, said of the situation, “Thank you for setting aside your nerves to assist in this process. May your participation lead to the successful prosecution of this wily fraudster!”
Senior Member Service Representative Brenda Hoenig and Assistant Branch Manager of our Nashua branch Gail Horan were recognized for having a heart to serve while safeguarding a member’s money.
An elderly member recently visited the Nashua branch to withdraw a very large amount of money in cash. Brenda, working on the teller line that day, was suspicious and explained that we would have to process it as a money order which would be available the next week. The member was not upset, but immediately made a phone call as she walked out of the branch. Brenda messaged the Branch Manager, Matt, and Assistant Branch Manager, Gail, to report the situation and that she suspected fraud. Gail quickly jumped into action and hurried outside to catch up to the member, where, after some further discussion and much encouragement, the member revealed that the fraudster on the phone had access to her online banking and that they were supposed to meet to hand over the cash. The branch team immediately called the local police and protected the member’s accounts.
Kate Dame, VP, Branch Administration, quipped, “I think the Nashua Police Department needs to deputize them, they’ve been amazing at identifying and stopping crime.”
Aurora Pineda and Suzanne Semedo, Senior Real Estate Loan Underwriters, were both commended for their dedicated teamwork. With recent Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) rule changes, Aurora and Suzanne are working diligently to identify loans that comply with the new regulations.
Paul McDonald, VP – Residential & Consumer Lending thanked them, saying, “Suzanne and Aurora have done an amazing job of identifying to right loans in a short period of time. Wait, but there’s more, they also proactively added notations to make the process more efficient on a go-forward basis.”
