Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union Awards $18,500 in Scholarships

LOWELL, MA (June 02, 2025) – Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union awarded $18,500 in scholarships to members through their MoneyStrong and Employee College Scholarship Programs. The Credit Union offers scholarships to incoming freshmen and current college students attending an accredited two or four-year college or university. A reception was held on Tuesday, May 19, at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union’s Headquarters to honor and celebrate the scholarship recipients.
Since 2000, Jeanne D’Arc has been proudly supporting the dreams of many students to pursue a higher education. This year, the Credit Union received over 160 applications for the 26th Annual MoneyStrong Scholarship. Applicants were asked, “As you enter your college years, and subsequently, start your professional life, what specific personal finance skills have you learned that you feel will guide you through this phase of your life?” Among the recipients, 22 are high school seniors preparing for their freshman year of college and four are current college students attending various colleges and universities.
Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union also continued its commitment to employees through their Employee Scholarship Program. Jeanne D’Arc employees, as well as their eligible children or grandchildren, have the opportunity to receive one of six scholarships. Three are in honor of former Jeanne D’Arc employees and board members and three emphasize the importance of volunteerism. This year, a total of $3,500 was awarded to four recipients.
“Each year, our scholarship applicants continue to raise the bar. Their commitment to academic achievement, leadership, and service to others is truly inspiring,” said Larissa C. Thurston, President and Chief Executive Officer at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “These students have demonstrated a strong commitment not only to their education, but also to their schools and communities. We’re proud to invest in their future and celebrate all they’ve achieved so far.”
