Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union Announces Promotion of Alison Hughes to Vice President – Community Engagement
LOWELL, MA (June 13, 2024) – Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, is pleased to announce the promotion of Alison Hughes to Vice President – Community Engagement. Her newly enhanced position is a reflection of her many years of dedicated leadership and commitment to the community. In this role, Hughes will continue to represent Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union and the We Share A Common Thread Foundation, building strong relationships with community partners in the areas we serve.
Hughes is the driving force behind the success of the We Share A Common Thread Foundation annual fundraiser, as money raised has nearly doubled during her tenure with the Credit Union. Her passion for community involvement is evident in her collaboration with organizations such as the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce, where she orchestrated the Team 2020 Fundraiser, uniting over 40 local non-profits.
Hughes’ initiatives extend beyond fundraising for Jeanne D’Arc, as she cultivates and fosters partnerships with area nonprofits, including projects like “Reading with Rowdy” with UMass Lowell and On the Move, the “Smile Station” with Lowell General Hospital, and “Tales for Tails” with the Lowell Humane Society and the Greater Lowell Family YMCA. Moreover, she spearheads Jeanne D’Arc’s Small Acts That Give Back Initiative, the WSACT Give-A-Click program, and the Credit Union’s employee volunteerism programs.
Residing in Dracut, Massachusetts, with her three children, Hughes has a history of public service. She served on the Board of Selectmen for the town of Dracut from 2014 to 2020, including a term as Madame Chair for two years. Prior to her tenure on the Board, she was an active member of the town’s Finance Committee for six years. She currently serves as a Board Chair for the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce, Corporator for Lowell General Hospital since January 2022, and is the Vice Chair of The D’Youville Foundation board.
